PM Modi Maintains Global Approval Dominance with 76 Percent Rating

In a recent survey conducted by Morning Consult, a US-based consultancy firm, Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to stand tall as a global leader with an impressive approval rating of 76 percent. This marks a significant achievement for the Indian Prime Minister, solidifying his position as one of the most popular leaders on the world stage. The survey reveals that a substantial majority of people in India appreciate and support Modi's leadership, setting him apart from other global leaders by a wide margin.

According to Morning Consult's 'Global Leader Approval Rating Tracker,' 76 percent of respondents in India expressed approval of Prime Minister Modi's leadership. This overwhelming support is notably higher than the second-best approval rating, held by Mexico President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, who received a 66 percent approval rating. Switzerland President Alain Berset follows with a 58 percent approval rating, underscoring the considerable gap between Modi and other world leaders. It is noteworthy that with a 37 percent rating, US President Joe Biden is at seventh place.

This isn't the first time Prime Minister Modi has received top honors in global approval ratings. Previous surveys have consistently placed him at the pinnacle of global leaders, reflecting the enduring popularity of his leadership style and policies. The recent survey, however, highlights an even wider margin between Modi and his international counterparts.

In stark contrast to Modi's robust approval ratings, other prominent global leaders are facing more modest levels of support. US President Joe Biden has a 37 percent approval rating, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau stands at 31 percent, UK PM Rishi Sunak at 25 percent, and France President Emmanuel Macron at just 24 percent. These figures underscore the exceptional nature of Modi's widespread approval and highlight the distinctiveness of his leadership style.

The timing of these impressive approval ratings is noteworthy, coming on the heels of significant victories for Prime Minister Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party in three assembly elections in the Hindi heartland states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. The triumphs are being interpreted as a substantial boost for Modi and his party ahead of the general elections slated for 2024.
