In a recent social media post, the Prime Minister pointed to significant strides made in upgrading infrastructure, noting that these efforts are already delivering tangible benefits for millions of passengers and freight operations nationwide.
Sharing insights from an article authored by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in an English daily, Mr. Modi highlighted how systematic track renewal, the adoption of advanced testing technologies, and the use of mechanised maintenance techniques are transforming the backbone of Indian Railways. According to him, these initiatives are not only enhancing ride quality but also enabling trains to operate at higher speeds with improved efficiency.
The modernisation drive has focused on replacing aging tracks with stronger, more durable materials capable of handling increased loads and faster trains. Alongside this, cutting-edge diagnostic tools are being deployed to monitor track health in real time, allowing for early detection of faults and reducing the likelihood of disruptions.
