Fire of Maratha movement intensifies in Maharashtra; Angry agitators are burning houses of MLAs

Violent protests continue in Maharashtra demanding Maratha reservation. After Beed and Majalgaon, arson also took place in Turori village near Umarga town on Tuesday morning. There the protesters set fire to a bus of Karnataka depot. After Beed city, which was most affected by the movement, the administration has also imposed curfew in Osmanabad. Internet has been shut down in Beed. In the last 12 hours, three people have tried to commit suicide in Jalna city. There too, protests have been going on for the last 13 days.

The Shinde government is considering calling a special session of the assembly to find a solution to the violent demand for Maratha reservation. For this, a cabinet meeting can be held. According to media reports, an ordinance can be brought to provide reservation to Marathas. Maratha reservation movement leader Manoj Jarange is on hunger strike for 6 days in Antrauli, Jalna. CM Eknath Shinde spoke to him on Tuesday morning. After this, he agreed to drink only water. In the movement going on since August, 13 people have committed suicide in the last 11 days.

In this movement, the houses/offices of these leaders were targeted in the violence: House of MLA Prakash Solanki, house of MLA Sandeep Kshirsagar, office of former minister Jaydutt Kshirsagar, Sharad Pawar group's Beed NCP office also set on fire, Majalgaon Municipality was also set on fire.

In Beed, Maratha protesters are now burning the residences of political leaders of those parties who did not take a stand in favor of reservation. In Beed, Maratha agitators set fire to the residence of sitting MLA of Sharad Pawar faction Sandeep Kshirsagar in the evening and four four-wheelers parked in it were burnt and a lot of damage was done.

Today itself, a similar fire incident took place in the house of the MLA of Ajit Pawar group. Apart from this, today itself two BJP MLAs resigned in favor of Maratha reservation, hence their houses were not set on fire.
