Delhi Records Hottest Day of the Season: Heat Wave Expected to Persist

NEW DELHI: The heat wave has started to be felt in many states including the national capital Delhi, UP and Haryana. Tuesday (March 25) has been the hottest day of this season so far in Delhi. The maximum temperature in Delhi on Tuesday was recorded at 37.1 degrees Celsius.  According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature in Delhi was 1.1 degrees above normal.

The Meteorological Department said that the sky is forecast to remain clear in Delhi-NCR on Wednesday. During this time the maximum temperature can reach 39 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the minimum temperature is forecast to be around 18 degrees Celsius. There will be no significant change in temperature on Thursday (March 27), the maximum can go up to 40 degrees. The sky will be clear, but discomfort may increase during the day due to heat. The humidity in the air will be low, due to which the effect of dry weather will prevail.

The weather in Uttar Pradesh will vary slightly from region to region. Temperatures in western UP (Meerut, Baghpat, Saharanpur) may reach 36-38 degrees Celsius, while in eastern UP it is expected to remain between 35-37 degrees. The minimum temperature will be between 19-23 degrees. The sky will be mostly clear on both days, but light clouds may appear in some areas. The effect of heat will increase during the day.
