Based on the motto of “Reform, Perform and Transform” , India has made an unprecedented journey from resolve to accomplishment in the last 11 years. Before Shri Narendra Modi ji became the Prime Minister in 2014, India’s developmental efforts were adversely affected by policy ambiguity, slow decision-making process, corruption, scams and infrastructural deficiencies. In fact, these had halted the pace of the development in the country. A sense of disappointment and betrayal was deepening among the people. The poor, farmers, women and youth felt that their dreams were limited only to statistics and election announcements.
The people of this country remember that even after 70 years of independence, 70 per cent of the people did not have domestic gas connections. Quality electricity, pothole-free roads, pure drinking water and clean toilet facilities were considered a luxury. Bank accounts had no meaning for the poor. There was an identity crisis for the citizens of India in the world and the growth rate of the Indian economy had weakened.
It was against this background that the country got the leadership of respected Narendra Modi Ji. Shri Modi Ji started writing a new saga of change in India, where governance was made a medium of public service and not just the language of power. He instilled the belief that India can become not just a country of possibilities but also a country of achievements. Schemes like “Make in India” and “Startup India” showed that India is not just a consumer market but also has the power of innovation and production.
The leadership of the Prime Minister has proved that if the political will is clear, the policies are clear and the participation of the public is ensured, then even the impossible becomes possible. This is where the creation of a new India begins. In the 5 years of his first term, he did what was just a dream in the last 70 years.
The picture of Uttar Pradesh was no different from the rest of India. But the people of Uttar Pradesh were closely watching the work of the respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, who worked on a mission mode. In 2017, Uttar Pradesh took the path of development and a double engine government was established.
Under the guidance of the Honourable Prime Minister, Uttar Pradesh has been creating new records of success since 2017. At the Global Investors Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji had said, "If India is a bright spot for the world today, then Uttar Pradesh is driving India's growth." In fact, under the guidance of the Prime Minister, between the years 2017 and 2025, Uttar Pradesh has laid a solid foundation of security, good governance and development.
Incidentally, the tenure of most Prime Ministers before Modi ji had been such that they were seen only laying the foundation stone and making announcements of the projects, but were never seen to be inaugurating them after timely completion. The working style of respected Modi Ji is completely different from others in this matter. He delivers what he announces.
The Prime Minister is an MP from Uttar Pradesh. In his journey of developing the country, he has been especially kind to the largest state of India, Uttar Pradesh and the effect of the speed of inaugurations after laying the foundation stones is clearly visible in Uttar Pradesh.
The contribution of the respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji in the overall development of the country and the state has been historic and multi-dimensional. The work done in the last eight years for a state like Uttar Pradesh which is huge and the largest in terms of population is unprecedented. I feel from my heart that the extensive changes that have taken place on the land of Uttar Pradesh have been possible only due to the vision, determination and guidance of the Prime Minister.
Infrastructure and connectivity
Uttar Pradesh was a victim of backwardness and chaos for a long time. After 2014, the country got momentum and new direction under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi ji. He is of the clear opinion that if Uttar Pradesh changes, the country will automatically change. Purvanchal Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway, Gorakhpur Link Expressway and Delhi-Varanasi High-Speed Rail Project are direct examples of Modi ji's vision.
Projects like Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) have not only connected Uttar Pradesh with industrial opportunities, but have also instilled the confidence of new investors. The Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and Bharatmala projects have also connected remote villages to the mainstream of development. Today, if Uttar Pradesh is being identified as an expressway state, the credit for this goes to the vision of the Prime Minister.
Industrial investment and employment
Prime Minister Modi believes that the country cannot progress without giving opportunities to the youth power. In this direction, he has brought about extensive changes through campaigns like Make in India, Start-up India and Digital India. Under his guidance, the Global Investors Summit was organized twice in Uttar Pradesh. Investment proposals worth more than Rs 45 lakh crore were received and lakhs of employment opportunities were created. This is not only strengthening the resolve of self-reliant India, but is also a historic step towards the security of the country.
Prime Minister's One District, One Product (ODOP) scheme has created new confidence in the traditional industries and artisans of Uttar Pradesh. Khadi, Banarasi saree, glass of Firozabad, brass of Moradabad, perfume of Kannauj, black salt rice of Siddharthnagar, desi ghee of Auraiya, jiggery of Ayodhya, etc. are reaching the global market.
Agriculture and Rural Development
Uttar Pradesh is an agricultural state, and Prime Minister Modi ji has always given priority to the upliftment of farmers. Crores of farmers have been directly benefited so far through the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Crores of small and marginal farmers of Uttar Pradesh have felt great relief from this scheme. The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana has provided protection to farmers from the risk of natural disasters.
Under the guidance of the Prime Minister, we have made record payments to sugarcane farmers. This is a testament to self-confidence and economic empowerment.
Health and Medicine
The achievements that Uttar Pradesh has made in the field of health have been possible only due to the leadership and dedication of Modi ji. The Ayushman Bharat scheme has given the right to quality health facilities to millions of poor families. Under the guidance of the Prime Minister, a medical college is either operational or in process in every district of the state. This will make medical education and better health services possible in every district. After 2017, new medical colleges were opened, AIIMS were started in Rae Bareli and Gorakhpur under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana and maternal-infant mortality rate has come down. Our ability to deal with the Covid-19 global pandemic has been the result of the decisive leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Modi ji and the success of the vaccine campaign.
Women Empowerment and Social Security
Hon'ble Prime Minister Modi Ji clearly believes that nation building is incomplete without women power. Ujjwala Yojana has freed the lives of lakhs of mothers and sisters of Uttar Pradesh from smoke. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has ensured respectable housing for poor families. Economic empowerment of women has been done through Jan Dhan Yojana and digital banking. The Prime Minister has also made a significant contribution in shaking and changing the mindset of the common people of the country regarding daughters. From turning the birth of a daughter into a celebration to her upbringing, education, nutrition, medicine to employment, he has made extensive arrangements. The campaign of planting five trees on the birthday to make people feel proud of daughters has a deep meaning, which is the service of both the family and the environment.
Upliftment of religion, culture and faith
Respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji has played a prominent role among the architects of the construction of a grand temple of Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya, the symbol of Indian identity. From the arrangements for the Rath Yatra's Gujarat visit during the Ramjanmabhoomi movement to the Jan Jagran Abhiyan regarding the Ram Shila Pujan programme and the signature campaign in favour of the Ram temple, to the announcement of the formation of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in the Parliament House as the Prime Minister in the year 2020 after the Supreme Court order, Honourable Narendra Modi ji has been working continuously in a democratic manner. He also laid the foundation stone of the holy Ram Janmabhoomi temple and also completed the work of Pranapratishtha of the idol of Lord Shri Ram in the grand temple.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji believes that without the feeling of historical pride and the determination of cultural renaissance, India cannot achieve the highest goals of development. It is necessary to move forward in the direction of modern thinking and innovation with the pride of the great Indian culture.
In the year 2014, Shri Narendra Modi ji decided to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi, one of the oldest cities in the world in Uttar Pradesh, and won with a huge majority. Even while discharging the important responsibilities of the post of Prime Minister, the development of Varanasi has always been at the core of Shri Narendra Modi ji's heart. The vision of Kashi's development would have been incomplete without the development of Baba Shri Vishwanath Dham Temple Corridor. That is why Modi ji first started the construction work of Shri Vishwanath Dham Temple Corridor. Through the Kashi-Tamil Sangamam organised in Varanasi, Honourable Modi ji has further strengthened the bridge of dialogue between the South and the North.
After being elected as an MP from Varanasi for the first time, the Honourable Prime Minister ji had said, "It is in my destiny to serve Maa Ganga." Calling Ganga a mother and describing himself as Gangaputra was not an exaggeration. The promptness and seriousness he showed towards the cleanliness of Maa Ganga through the Namami Gange Yojana clearly reflects his vision regarding the change in the economic condition of 40 per cent of the population dependent on the sacred water stream of cultural and spiritual importance.
The turnout of more than 66 crore 50 lakh devotees for the holy dip during the Maha Kumbh was a result of this belief. For the divine and grand event of Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji not only assured the Uttar Pradesh government of all possible support, but also ordered ministries like Civil Aviation, Railways and Union Road Transport Ministry, etc. to ensure high level arrangements in collaboration with the state government.
Law and order and good governance
The Prime Minister's mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas” is the basis of our work. He has always inspired that good governance and security are the foundation of development. With his inspiration, we hit hard on crime and mafias. This is one of the most important reasons why Uttar Pradesh has today become a trusted destination for investors and industrialists.
Steps towards self-reliance in defence sector
The Brahmos missiles which played a key role in destroying enemy targets during Operation Sindoor have started being produced on the soil of Uttar Pradesh. The development of Defence Industrial Corridor in Aligarh, Lucknow, Agra, Jhansi, Kanpur and Chitrakoot is an important step towards making the country self-reliant. The Defence Corridor has created immense employment opportunities in Uttar Pradesh.
Global identity and pride
Today, the identity of Uttar Pradesh has reached new heights not only in India but also on the global stage. The Prime Minister has always described the huge population of UP to be an asset , not a liability. When the G-20 meetings were organised in our four metros—Varanasi, Lucknow, Agra and Noida, the whole world experienced the potential of Uttar Pradesh.
With the trust of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, the Uttar Pradesh government raised the confidence of the people and instilled the belief that the changing Uttar Pradesh will become the charioteer of the new India. Today Uttar Pradesh has become crime-free, safe for investment, a state that gives opportunities to the youth, respect to women, prosperity to farmers. Uttar Pradesh is also a protector of people’s faith. All this would not have been possible without the vision and leadership of Prime Minister Modi ji.
I can proudly say Modi ji has given new energy, new inspiration and new resolve to Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh’s journey of development and prosperity has just begun. Under the leadership of Modi ji, we will take Uttar Pradesh to new heights of development and in 2047, we will establish the identity of Uttar Pradesh as a developed state in the world with an economy of 6 trillion dollars.
