Military Convoy Hit by Boulder in Ladakh: Several Soldiers Injured

According to an estimate, four to five Indian Army personnel, including an officer, sustained injuries today when a boulder struck their vehicle in Ladakh's Durbuk area. The incident, reported around 11:30 am local time, highlights the perilous conditions faced by military convoys navigating through the region.

The Indian Army's Fire and Fury Corps promptly responded to the accident, initiating a rescue operation to aid the injured personnel. "ROAD ACCIDENT: A boulder from a cliff fell on one of the vehicles of a military convoy in Ladakh, around 1130h on 30 Jul 2025. Recovery action is in progress," stated a tweet from the Fire and Fury Corps, underlining the ongoing efforts to manage the situation.

This unfortunate event comes amidst challenging weather conditions in Ladakh, marked by heavy rainfall and snowfall over the past few days. Such weather patterns have significantly increased the risk of road accidents across the region. Just a week ago, a similar incident occurred in Ladakh on July 23rd, when two individuals were injured after their vehicle overturned near Pang. The Fire and Fury Corps swiftly intervened, providing essential medical assistance and ensuring the safe evacuation of the injured to a hospital in Karu for further treatment.

The incidents underscore the critical role played by the Fire and Fury Corps in maintaining not just security but also in providing humanitarian aid during emergencies in the challenging terrain of Ladakh. As rescue operations continue and injured personnel receive medical care, efforts remain focused on ensuring the safety and well-being of all involved.
