Israel designates Lashkar-e-Taiba as terrorist organization in commemoration of 15th anniversary of the 26/11 terrorist attacks

Israel has designated Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) as a terrorist organization, marking the 15th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. The Israeli embassy emphasized that this decision was made independently, not at the behest of the Indian government. Explaining the move to list LeT as a terror group, the embassy underscored a shared commitment to a unified global front against terrorism.

In an official statement, the Israeli embassy stated, "Lashkar-e-Taiba is a deadly and reprehensible terrorist organization, accountable for the murder of numerous Indian civilians and others. Its heinous actions on November 26, 2008, continue to resonate strongly across peace-seeking nations and societies." Israel extended condolences to all victims, survivors, and affected families of the Mumbai attacks, expressing solidarity for a peaceful future.

Operating from Pakistan, LeT initially focused on attacking Indian troops in Kashmir but has evolved into one of the most dangerous Pakistan-backed terrorist organizations. Both the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the United States have previously designated LeT as an international terrorist organization. In response to political pressure from the United States and India, Pakistan formally banned LeT on January 13, 2002.
