IPL 2025 UPDATE: RCB, SRH, and CSK Shine as DC Faces LSG on March 24

NEW DELHI : The 18th season of  2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) has started from March 22 featuring 10 teams and 74 matches across India. The opening match of 22nd march was between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). RCB won the match by seven wickets. On 23rd march two matches were played. first match was between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) vs. Rajasthan Royals (RR) which was won by SRH, and the second match was played between CSK and MI which was won by CSK. 

On Monday, March 24, the next match of IPL 2025 will be played between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Vishakhapatnam, starting at 7:30 PM IST. DC will be led by Axar Patel, while Rishabh Pant will captain LSG. Will Axar’s steady leadership win the day, or will Pant’s unpredictable style take the spotlight? We’ll just have to wait and see!"

Match 1: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) vs. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)

In the first match which was played on 22nd march2025, RCB played against the defending champions, KKR, at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. RCB won by seven wickets. RCB bowled first and limited KKR to 174 runs. Josh Hazlewood was outstanding, taking two wickets for 22 runs. In reply, RCB chased the target comfortably in just 16.2 overs. Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 59 runs, and Phil Salt added 56 runs. This strong performance marked a successful start for RCB.

On March 23, 2025, two exciting Indian Premier League (IPL) matches took place:​

Match 1: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) vs. Rajasthan Royals (RR)

In Hyderabad, SRH posted a massive total of 286/6 in their 20 overs. Ishan Kishan led the charge with an unbeaten 106 off 47 balls, supported by Travis Head (67), Nitish Kumar Reddy (30), and Heinrich Klaasen (34). Rajasthan's bowler, Jofra Archer, conceded 76 runs in his four overs, setting a new record for the most expensive bowling figures in IPL history. Despite valiant efforts from Rajasthan's Sanju Samson (66) and Dhruv Jurel (70), they fell short, ending at 242/6, giving SRH a 44-run victory. 

Match 2: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs. Mumbai Indians (MI)

In Chennai, CSK restricted MI to 155/9, thanks to Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad's impressive 4 wickets for 18 runs. Chasing this modest target, CSK's captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad, scored a quick 53 runs. Despite losing three quick wickets, Rachin Ravindra's unbeaten 65 guided CSK to a four-wicket win, with five balls to spare.
