The eastern districts of Rajasthan are reeling under the devastating impact of incessant heavy rains over the past three days. The deluge has resulted in widespread chaos, with several areas experiencing severe flooding and multiple casualties reported due to rain-related incidents.
In the last 24 hours alone, exceptionally heavy rainfall has been recorded across key areas such as Ramgarh Pachwara and Lalsot in Dausa district, Sapotra in Karauli, and Sawaimadhopur. These regions have borne the brunt of the downpour, leading to significant loss of life and property.
According to reports, more than 25 people have tragically lost their lives in rain-related accidents across the state in the past two days. The casualties underscore the severity of the situation and the urgent need for coordinated rescue and relief efforts.
The heavy rains have submerged low-lying areas in Dausa, Karauli, and Sawaimadhopur districts, causing widespread inundation. Roads have been rendered impassable in many places, stranding residents and disrupting essential services. The affected population is grappling with the aftermath of the floods, with many communities cut off from assistance.
In response to the crisis, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams have been mobilized for rescue operations. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has taken proactive steps, directing in-charge secretaries to visit the affected districts to assess the situation firsthand. He has instructed the formation of joint teams comprising multiple departments to expedite rescue and relief operations.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall in Jaipur, Dausa, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, and Tonk districts for today, underscoring the continued threat posed by the ongoing weather conditions. Similar warnings have been issued for numerous other districts across the state.
As eastern Rajasthan grapples with the aftermath of these devastating rains, the focus remains on ensuring the safety and well-being of affected communities. With rescue operations underway and proactive measures being implemented by the state government, efforts are concentrated on mitigating further damage and providing immediate relief to those in need.
The situation serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of monsoon rains and underscores the importance of robust disaster preparedness and response mechanisms in safeguarding lives during such calamities.
