Earlier on Thursday, a major road accident in east Delhi claimed the life of a motorcyclist and injured two others after a bus crashed into several vehicles near the Nand Nagri depot.
Police said they received information about the accident and immediately rushed teams to the spot. The injured victims were taken to Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital for treatment.
Doctors declared one of the injured motorcyclists, identified as Vinit, dead on arrival. Two others, Rohit and Suraj, suffered injuries and remain under medical care.
A video recorded after the crash showed the bus with a shattered front windshield and a motorcycle trapped beneath its wheels, highlighting the intensity of the collision.
Crime scene investigators and forensic experts examined the site and collected evidence as part of the ongoing probe. Police said legal proceedings have been initiated at Nand Nagri Police Station under relevant sections of law.
The Delhi accident also caused significant traffic congestion, with a nearly three-kilometre-long jam affecting vehicular movement between Nand Nagri and Harsh Vihar for several hours.
Investigations are underway in both incidents as authorities seek to establish the precise causes behind the fatal crashes.
