Dissecting Chinese Espionage Web

Dissecting Chinese Espionage Web

Recently there was news that Atishi Marlena of Delhi government asked central government to end GST on online gaming. Now, why would she do that, is a question to ponder upon. We have plenty of reports that suggest that a significant number of Chinese software developers have relocated to Dubai, where they have launched online gaming applications that are solely geared towards the Indian market. Many Indians are working on these applications to give them a "local language / colour feel." They are all unlawful, and they make a combined total of more than $1 million every single day.  Now consider why Atishi Marlena of AAP advocated for online gaming apps.

Real Story

Now you have listened to, or read recently that Chinese Agents under Guise of Nepalese Plan for Economic Warfare & Covert Operations, Warns R&AW. R&AW has given internal security agencies instructions to keep a strict eye out for Nepalis travelling to Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur. The Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO) further confirmed this at a security assessment meeting. The minutes of the meeting, which included information about the Chinese operation, were successfully acquired by one of the media outlets.

R&AW has instructed internal security-related organisations to keep a watchful eye on Nepalis travelling to Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur. The instruction comes in response to particular intelligence that R&AW's sources in China provided, which showed that Chinese agents had developed new clandestine methods for sneaking into India. With the aid of private organisations and regional Nepalese passport offices, these Chinese agents are covertly assuming new identities by acquiring Nepali passports. They travel from Nepal to India with Nepali passports and these hidden profiles. When they arrive in urban areas like Mumbai or Pune, they make the exciting decision to settle in Pune and frequently assimilate into the community there, which frequently includes joining ashrams. They start their clandestine efforts against India from this point.

These highly skilled Chinese spies, according to R&AW, speak Hindi and English fluently. They are heavily active in covert operations and economic warfare while posing as Nepalis. As their command of the language and the mask of Nepali identity make it incredibly difficult to determine their true origins—be they Chinese, Nepali, or people from the North-eastern regions—all of whom resemble a Mongolian tribe, this elite agency emphasises the fact that their prolonged stays in India are a deliberate strategy.

Comparing the Chinese intelligence service's operations to those of the ISI, CIA, and other international security organisations reveals significant differences. For their operations in India, the Chinese intelligence service takes a distinctive tack by enlisting the aid of journalists and ideologues, particularly those who subscribe to the Marxist school of thought. Indian-based Chinese operatives appear to target largely soft civilian targets like researchers, policy analysts, employees of organisations that do defence and space research and development, journalists, and think tanks.

Economic Warfare and Espionage

Additionally, these agents engage in economic warfare by penetrating the Indian market through a variety of small-scale companies while disguising themselves as ashrams. They produce low-quality goods at cheap prices in an effort to establish themselves in the Indian market. They employ this tactic to persuade policymakers and think tanks to include the Chinese market into the Indian economy. These spies also engage in social media warfare, working with knowledgeable people to challenge government regulations in recent years. In order to escape taxes, Chinese agents set up shell firms, chose Indian directors, and engaged in cash transactions, which caused India to lose a sizable amount of income. Chinese businesses receive a portion of the earnings. These businesses are difficult to track down since they leave few signs of their existence.

The Chinese government has been accused of using Nepalese nationals to pose as Indians and carry out attacks in India. This is part of a larger strategy of using proxies to destabilize India and undermine its influence in the region.

There have been a number of incidents in recent years in which Chinese agents have posed as Nepalese nationals and carried out attacks in India. In 2019, for example, a group of Chinese agents disguised as Nepalese nationals attacked an Indian Army convoy in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The attack killed five Indian soldiers and injured several others.

In another incident in 2020, a Chinese agent posing as a Nepalese national was arrested in India for trying to smuggle weapons into the country. The agent confessed to working for the Chinese government and said that he was tasked with carrying out attacks in India.

These incidents are just a few examples of how the Chinese government is using Nepalese nationals to attack India internally. This strategy is part of a larger effort by China to undermine India's influence in the region and destabilize the country.

There are a number of reasons why the Chinese government is using this strategy. First, China and India have a long history of rivalry and border disputes. China sees India as a major threat to its regional ambitions. Second, China is concerned about India's growing relationship with the United States and other Western countries. China sees India as a potential ally of the West and wants to weaken it.

The Chinese government's use of Nepalese identities to attack India internally is a serious threat to India's security. The Indian government needs to be vigilant to this threat and take steps to protect itself from it.

Adani and Necklace of Diamond

The Necklace of Diamonds is India's strategic initiative to counter China's growing influence in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). The term was first used in 2004 by US defense contractor Booz Allen Hamilton to describe India's efforts to build a network of partnerships with countries in the IOR.

The Necklace of Diamonds is based on the idea of encircling China with a string of partnerships that can help India to project its power and influence in the region. The key elements of the strategy include:

•             Developing close ties with countries in the IOR: India has been partnering with countries in the IOR, such as Sri Lanka, Maldives, Seychelles, Mauritius, Madagascar, and Mozambique. These countries are located in strategic locations that can provide India with access to key sea lanes and chokepoints.

•             Building military infrastructure in the IOR: India has been investing heavily in building military infrastructure in the IOR, such as the development of naval bases in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep Islands, and Karwar. These bases will allow India to project its power more effectively in the region.

Now, how Adani is connected to all these is very interesting to know about.

India launched its "Necklace of Diamond" initiative in 2014 to counter China's "String of Pearls" strategy. India is playing the checkmate game, as can be seen if you carefully examine the government's and some particular corporate groups' recent activities. And over the past five or six years, the parties and media that rely on Chinese funding have been in uproar.

Why is it now becoming a topic of discussion in relation to the conflict between Rahul and Adani? Sabang Port is to blame for this.  This port is in the busiest shipping lane, the Malacca Strait. The Adani Group of India and the Indonesian government are currently having serious discussions about developing the Sabang Port. Adani Group has also committed to spending $1 billion USD for this, and there is a strong likelihood that they will be awarded the contract.

Why is this deal important?

See where Sabang Port is strategically located. The Strait of Malacca's very mouth is where it is.  This route is used for the import and export of all goods from China. From here comes their navy. There would undoubtedly be a commotion in China if this route is blocked for whatever reason. In the upcoming days, there will be more opposition to Adani. You must have realised the rationale behind the commotion related to Adani.

Now you know how India is suffocating China.  Adani will be located at the Suez Canal on the western side and the mouth of the Malacca Strait on the eastern side. China is becoming agitated as a result of this because it is now at India's mercy, which is why its agent in India, Rahul Gandhi, is yelling at ADANI. India exploits major enterprises like Adani to encircle China; much like the US does to control the oil, arms, and pharmaceutical industries. The new strategy of China is to target Adani at all costs, and as a result, Chinese agent Rahul strengthens his accusations against Adani. You all must be remembering the MoU Congress Party has done with the Communist Party of China. And you can see what’s happening in last 5-6 years, will make you understand what’s going on with Rahul and his accusations, foreign visits and all other things. He is speaking everything that China and Pakistan wants him to say. Now, the choice is yours.
