Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana will be extended for the next five years. He said this while addressing an election rally at Durg in Chhattisgarh. Under this scheme, about 80 crore poor people across the country are being given 5 kg of free food grains every month. This scheme was ending in December this year, which today the Prime Minister has announced to extend for the next five years.
Mr Modi said that the biggest priority of the BJP government at the Center is poor welfare. He said that for him the biggest caste in the country is the poor. He alleged that the opposition parties want to break the unity of the poor by unleashing the poison of casteism among them.
Referring to the recent action taken by the Enforcement Directorate in Chhattisgarh, Mr Modi said that the Congress government of Chhattisgarh and the Chief Minister should tell what are their relations with the Mahadev App betting scam accused sitting in Dubai. The Prime Minister said that the Congress government of state has committed scams worth crores of rupees in the last five years and the people of the state are fed up with the corruption of the Congress government.
Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah has also launched an intensive campaign in the state from today, i.e. 4th Nov 2023.
There are two thousand 533 candidates in the Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh. Of these, two thousand 280 are male, 252 are female and one candidate is of third gender. Our correspondent reports that voting for Assembly elections will be held on the 17th of this month.
