In response to escalating tensions along the India-Pakistan border, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to bolster security measures at critical infrastructure and key establishments nationwide. This directive comes in the wake of recent provocative actions by Pakistan, including multiple drone attacks targeting military installations and other vital sites.
CISF, responsible for safeguarding critical infrastructure such as airports, power plants, nuclear installations, space research facilities, and major government buildings, has been instructed to heighten its vigilance and readiness. Minister Shah will chair a crucial meeting at 12:30 pm today with top officials, including the Director Generals of the Border Security Force (BSF) and CISF, along with senior Ministry of Home Affairs officials. The agenda includes a comprehensive review of the current border situation and security arrangements at airports.
The Indian Army responded resolutely to Pakistan's recent aggression, effectively repulsing multiple drone attacks launched along the Western Border on the night of May 8-9. In a coordinated operation, Indian Army Air Defence units successfully neutralized over 50 Pakistani drones attempting to breach Indian territory in areas including Udhampur, Samba, Jammu, Akhnoor, Nagrota, and Pathankot.
"The Indian Army remains steadfast in its commitment to defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our nation. Any hostile actions will be met with robust responses," affirmed a statement from the Army, underscoring its readiness to thwart any nefarious designs aimed at destabilizing peace along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Borders (IB).
The heightened security measures and swift military response underscore India's preparedness to safeguard its borders and crucial installations against external threats. The developments highlight the ongoing challenges and the imperative for continuous vigilance in the face of regional tensions.
