Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Saturday assumes significance as the BJP steps up its organisational and political preparations in the state ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. Adityanath is also scheduled to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president Nitin Nabin, bringing the party’s government and organisational leadership into focus at a crucial stage of preparations.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg on Saturday, amid intensified preparations by the BJP for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
The chief minister’s Delhi schedule also includes meetings with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president Nitin Nabin. While there has been no official disclosure of the detailed agenda for these discussions, the meetings come at a time when the BJP is concentrating on strengthening its organisational machinery across Uttar Pradesh.
The Delhi visit follows Adityanath’s participation in the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2026 in Greater Noida, where he shared the stage with Shah. The fourth edition of the trade show was inaugurated by the Union Home Minister on September 25.
The trade show has provided the Uttar Pradesh government with an opportunity to present the state as an investment destination to companies from India and abroad.
During the event, Adityanath held round-table discussions with representatives of companies from countries including Russia, Vietnam, Belarus, Japan and Singapore. He invited investors to explore opportunities in sectors such as defence, pharmaceuticals, aviation, medical devices, agriculture and manufacturing.
Shah, meanwhile, highlighted the investment environment in the state and referred to improvements in law and order while discussing Uttar Pradesh’s development trajectory.
The investment outreach is part of the state government’s broader effort to attract capital, generate employment and expand industrial activity. The discussions with international companies also underline the government’s emphasis on connecting Uttar Pradesh with global investment networks.
Alongside governance and investment, the BJP’s organisational preparations have emerged as another important focus ahead of the 2027 polls.
Earlier this week, Adityanath and Nitin Nabin reviewed the party’s organisational arrangements in Meerut. Their discussions covered the party structure at the booth, Shakti Kendra, mandal and district levels.
Nabin also interacted with BJP workers during his visit, signalling the importance being attached to the party’s grassroots network. Against this backdrop, his proposed meeting with Adityanath in Delhi assumes significance in the context of the BJP’s ongoing organisational exercise in Uttar Pradesh.
The party has been working to activate its workers and strengthen coordination across different organisational levels. Booth-level mobilisation remains a key component of this exercise as the BJP prepares for the next Assembly election.
The BJP is also conducting a month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan in Uttar Pradesh from September 17 to October 17 to mark 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public life.
Adityanath has reviewed preparations for the campaign, which includes outreach to beneficiaries, social service programmes, cultural events and initiatives designed to involve young people.
The campaign gives the party an additional platform for engaging with workers and beneficiaries at the grassroots level.
Adityanath’s meetings with the BJP’s top leadership in Delhi therefore come against the backdrop of several parallel activities — investment promotion, government performance, organisational strengthening and public outreach.
With the 2027 Assembly elections approaching, the BJP’s focus in Uttar Pradesh is increasingly centred on maintaining an active grassroots organisation and ensuring coordination between the government and the party machinery. The meetings in Delhi are taking place within that broader preparation, even as the specific issues discussed by the leaders have not been officially disclosed.
