Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a rousing welcome from a young crowd in Vadodara on Tuesday as the iconic Queen anthem We Will Rock You echoed across the venue, followed by Aari Aari from the blockbuster Hindi film Dhurandhar.
The energetic musical opening set the tone for the Prime Minister’s visit to Gujarat, where he is scheduled to inaugurate completed projects and announce several new development initiatives. Walking amid a sea of enthusiastic youngsters, Modi waved to the crowd as cheers and applause filled the venue.
The choice of music, particularly Queen’s 1977 classic, added a distinctly youthful character to the event. The song has long been associated with sporting occasions, public gatherings and youth-driven movements across the world.
After his grand entry, Modi turned his attention to the political narrative surrounding the youth and urged them to remain cautious of what he described as attempts to mislead them through false claims.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said young people should distinguish between truth and misinformation and remain committed to facts.
“People will try to mislead you through Jhooth Ki Goonj, but youth will stand with truth,” Modi said.
His remarks appeared to be a political counter to the Opposition, particularly the Congress, and its Chhatron Ki Goonj campaign. Without directly naming Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the Prime Minister's statement was seen as a pointed criticism of the Opposition's messaging among young voters.
