Viksit Bharat Needs Everyone’s Participation’: PM Modi Interacts with Seva Yatris

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that India has witnessed a significant narrowing of the gap between its cities and villages over the past 12 years, with improvements in rural infrastructure helping transform the lives of people in the countryside. He also underlined the growing economic independence of women, saying that women across the country are increasingly becoming self-reliant and empowered.

Interacting virtually with Seva Yatris travelling from Varanasi to Vadnagar as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, PM Modi emphasised the importance of social service, social reform and positive change. He said the vision of a Viksit Bharat cannot be achieved by the efforts of a few alone and requires the participation and contribution of every section of society.

The Prime Minister said the changes witnessed in villages over the years have helped reduce the traditional differences between rural and urban India. Better infrastructure and expanding opportunities, he noted, have contributed to a transformation in rural life. Alongside these developments, women have increasingly emerged as economically active and self-reliant members of society.

Reflecting on his personal connection with the journey, PM Modi said Vadnagar gave him the values that shaped his life, while Kashi added numerous dimensions of service to those values. He expressed happiness that young people were now carrying forward this spirit and adding their own experiences and energy to the culture of service.

The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, according to the interaction, represents an effort to connect personal journeys with the larger idea of social responsibility. The yatris travelling between Varanasi and Vadnagar shared their experiences with the Prime Minister and spoke about their observations during the journey.

PM Modi encouraged the participants to preserve these experiences by maintaining a diary throughout the Yatra. Recording their encounters, observations and lessons, he said, could help them reflect on the journey and keep alive the memories and values associated with the spirit of seva.

The Prime Minister's interaction placed particular emphasis on service as a means of bringing positive change to society. He highlighted the role of individuals, communities and young people in strengthening this process, while stressing that the journey towards Viksit Bharat depends on collective participation.

The message also connected India's development with social transformation. The narrowing rural-urban gap, improved infrastructure, greater economic participation by women and the involvement of young people in social service were presented as important aspects of the country's changing social landscape.

Through his interaction with the Seva Yatris, PM Modi underlined that development is not only about physical infrastructure or economic progress but also about creating a stronger culture of service and responsibility. The journey from Kashi to Vadnagar, he said, carries this broader message by bringing together values, service and the participation of a new generation.
