The world of Indian cinema and television is in mourning following the passing of veteran actor Satish Shah, who left us on Saturday afternoon. The beloved actor, renowned for his impeccable comic timing and memorable roles in classics like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro and Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, was 74.
The news was confirmed by filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, who stated that the actor succumbed to kidney failure. However, a note of uncertainty surrounds the immediate cause of his death. Ramesh Kadatala, who had been Shah's personal assistant for over three decades, provided a different account, suggesting the actor may have suffered a fatal heart attack.
Shah passed away at his residence in Bandra East, Mumbai. "It seems he passed away from a heart attack, however we are awaiting the final reports from the doctor about the reason behind his death,” Kadatala said, indicating that the family is awaiting official medical confirmation.
The actor had been facing health challenges in recent times and had undergone a kidney transplant, a fact that adds context to the reports of kidney failure. Despite this, news of his sudden demise came as a shock to his colleagues and legions of fans.
