In a major administrative overhaul, the Uttar Pradesh government has transferred 40 senior IAS officers, triggering significant changes across the state’s bureaucratic structure. The reshuffle includes the appointment of new District Magistrates (DMs) in 15 key districts, reflecting a renewed push for administrative efficiency and governance delivery.
Among the prominent postings, Gaurang Rathi has been appointed as the new DM of Jhansi, while Indrajeet Singh takes charge in Sultanpur. Kritika Sharma has been posted to Bulandshahr, and Annapurna Garg will serve as DM of Shravasti. Alok Yadav has been assigned to Shamli.
Further changes include Arvind Kumar Chauhan as DM of Saharanpur, Nitin Gaur in Amroha, and Abhishek Goyal in Hamirpur. Nidhi Gupta Vats has been entrusted with the responsibility of Fatehpur.
Other notable appointments include Ghanshyam Meena as DM of Unnao, Anjani Kumar Singh in Lakhimpur Kheri, and Indrajeet Tripathi in Mainpuri. Brijesh Kumar has been posted to Auraiya, while Manish Bansal assumes charge as the new DM of Agra. Harshita Mathur has been appointed as DM of Raebareli.
In addition to district-level changes, the reshuffle also includes several high-level postings across departments. A number of IAS officers have been assigned roles such as Special Secretaries, Managing Directors, and Divisional Commissioners—positions that play a crucial role in policy execution and inter-departmental coordination.
Officials have been directed to assume charge of their new responsibilities with immediate effect, indicating the government’s intent to ensure a smooth and swift transition.
The large-scale reshuffle is seen as part of the state leadership’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance, improve administrative accountability, and accelerate development initiatives across districts.
