Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines Prahlad Joshi today emphasised the need for achieving Aatmanirbhar Bharat. He was speaking in Bengaluru at the Stakeholders’s Outreach Programme on India-United Arab Emirates and India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement. The Union Minister said that exports play a crucial role in realising the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. He said that India achieved a significant milestone in the form of record high annual exports of goods and services in the current year of around 674 billion US dollars. He highlighted the various initiatives and reforms undertaken by the Government of India to further improve the ease of doing business. Director General of Services Export Promotion Council Dr. Abhay Sinha said that the two recent landmark trade agreements with UAE and Australia will benefit the exporters in India. The outreach programmes as the one held in Bengaluru today, are part of a series of concerted and coordinated efforts being made by the Department of Commerce to sensitize and create awareness amongst exporters across the country on the conducive platform and the favourable trade ecosystem that is being created with the conclusion of these landmark Trade Agreements with partner countries exhibiting significant trade complementarities with India. The particular outreach event was exclusively meant for local industry and exporters, particularly from the MSME sector, in Karnataka.
