In a resolute address today at the inauguration of the Tamil Nadu BJP's Coimbatore office, Union Home Minister Amit Shah refuted Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin's recent claims of unfair treatment by the Centre regarding fund allocation. Shah, speaking emphatically, clarified that the Narendra Modi government had allocated a substantial Rs 5,08,337 crore to Tamil Nadu between 2014 and 2024.
Rejecting Stalin's assertions that Tamil Nadu had been neglected in terms of central funds, Shah declared, "There is no truth in MK Stalin's statement. The Modi government has given Rs 5 lakh crore to Tamil Nadu." He went on to compare fund allocations under the previous UPA regime, implying that the present administration had rectified historical disparities.
Addressing allegations regarding the delimitation exercise, Shah labeled Stalin's remarks as a diversionary tactic. He assured that Tamil Nadu, along with other southern states, would not face a reduction in parliamentary representation during the impending delimitation process, emphasizing a fair pro-rata basis.
Shah did not shy away from criticizing the ruling DMK government's handling of law and order, alleging a rise in anti-national activities within the state. "The DMK government has cultivated a culture of corruption," he remarked sharply, citing recent incidents involving alleged favoritism and lax governance.
During his speech, Shah also highlighted concerns over the growing influence of drug and illegal mining mafias in Tamil Nadu, accusing the current administration of turning a blind eye to these issues. He asserted, "All the leaders of DMK have got Master's degree in corruption," underscoring his party's stance on clean governance and accountability.
Looking ahead to the political landscape, Shah expressed confidence in the NDA's prospects in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections scheduled for 2026. "Get ready for the formation of an NDA government in Tamil Nadu," he declared optimistically. He predicted a victory larger than their successes in Maharashtra and Haryana, promising to usher in a new era of governance characterized by transparency and developmental initiatives.
The event, which marked the inauguration of BJP district offices in Tiruvannamalai and Ramanathapuram through e-inauguration, was attended by party supporters and leaders eager to hear Shah's strategic vision for the state's political future.
