Sonu Nigam Clears the Air: No Stones, Just a Bunny Headband

Sonu Nigam recently performed at DTU’s Engifest ’25, where the concert took an unexpected turn when reports surfaced claiming stones and bottles were thrown at him, causing him to pause his performance. However, the singer dismissed these reports on Instagram, clarifying the actual situation.

On March 25, Sonu posted a picture of himself wearing a bunny headband while performing at the event. In his caption, he stated that no stones or bottles were thrown at him, contrary to what some media outlets reported. Instead, a vape was thrown on stage, hitting his team member Subhankar. Upon hearing about this, Sonu paused the show to address the crowd. He reminded the audience that such behavior was unacceptable and warned that the concert would be stopped if it happened again. He humorously added that the only other item thrown on stage was a "Pookie band," a bunny headband that a fan tossed at him, which he wore for the rest of the performance.

Sonu’s calm and composed handling of the situation reassured fans, who had been concerned about the alleged stone-throwing. Many took to social media to thank him for clarifying the incident and expressed their support. One fan wrote, “Thank you for clarifying in the caption! Hope Subhankar Ji is fine.” Another joked, “Thank you for this… Was worried.”

Despite the disruption, the concert ended on a positive note with Sonu’s playful response, turning a potentially negative situation into a fun moment. Fans began calling him "Pookie" after the headband incident, and Sonu’s good-natured approach won their hearts. This event showcased Sonu Nigam’s professionalism and strong bond with his fans.
