Shocking Incident at Hampi, Karnataka: Tourists Attacked, Women Raped, and Man Missing

In a distressing turn of events, Hampi, a renowned tourist destination in Karnataka, has been marred by a brutal assault on tourists, including the rape of two women, one of whom is a foreign national. The incident occurred late Thursday night near the picturesque Sanapur lake, a popular spot among visitors.

According to reports from the local police, unidentified assailants targeted a group of tourists enjoying a serene evening by the lakeside. Among the victims are a 27-year-old Israeli tourist and a 29-year-old female manager of a nearby homestay. The assailants subjected them to a horrifying ordeal, including sexual assault. Alongside them, their three male companions were also attacked. Tragically, one of the male tourists, hailing from Odisha, is currently missing after being pushed into the nearby Tungabhadra canal. The other two male tourists, from the United States and Maharashtra, sustained injuries during the assault.

The survivors were swiftly rushed to a government hospital for urgent medical care. Authorities have mobilized a special investigative team to track down the perpetrators responsible for this heinous crime.
