Shocking Bengaluru Crime: Cab Driver Arrested for Killing Wife and Six In-Laws

In a shocking case of alleged multiple murders in Bengaluru, police have arrested a 45-year-old cab driver accused of killing his wife and six members of her family following a domestic dispute. The accused, identified as Indushekhar, allegedly committed the killings on Wednesday, attempted to destroy evidence by cleaning the crime scene with chemicals and subsequently disposed of the bodies at different locations, including the Nandi Hills area in Chikkaballapur district. The case came to light after a missing-person complaint prompted an investigation, leading police to uncover what officials describe as a series of brutal killings. While one child's body has been recovered, search operations are continuing to locate the remaining victims.

A domestic dispute has taken a horrifying turn in Bengaluru, where a 45-year-old cab driver has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife and six of her relatives before disposing of their bodies at different locations. The accused, Indushekhar, is suspected of carrying out the killings on Wednesday at a residential property on 59th Cross, near Basroom Circle, falling under the jurisdiction of Rajajinagar police station.

According to police officers familiar with the investigation, Indushekhar allegedly first killed his wife, Sunita, using a grinding stone. He subsequently wrapped her body in cloth and transported it to the Nandi Hills area in Chikkaballapur district, where he allegedly abandoned it. After the killing, he reportedly switched off her mobile phone and told neighbours that she had gone on a trip, apparently to prevent suspicion from arising over her sudden disappearance.

Police suspect that the accused subsequently targeted six other members of his wife's family, including his mother-in-law, two brothers-in-law, their wives and a seven-year-old nephew. The suspected killings remained undiscovered until Thursday, when the mother of one of the sisters-in-law approached Srirampura police station and lodged a missing-person complaint. The ensuing investigation led officers to uncover the alleged multiple murders and arrest Indushekhar.

The accused allegedly made efforts to erase evidence from the crime scene by using chemicals to clean the house and remove bloodstains. Police have seized the car believed to have been used to transport the bodies and the grinding stone allegedly employed in the killings. Investigators have also recovered the body of a child, while searches are underway at several locations to trace the remaining victims.

Describing the scale of the investigation, North Division Deputy Commissioner of Police B S Nema Gowda said that two Assistant Commissioners of Police, four inspectors and approximately 50 police personnel had been deployed. He confirmed that the incident occurred on Wednesday and that the accused had allegedly disposed of the bodies at different places, making the recovery operation particularly challenging.

The case has triggered serious concerns over the circumstances surrounding the alleged murders and the apparent attempts to conceal the crime. Investigators are examining the sequence of events, the possible motive behind the killings and the accused's movements after the incident. The police investigation is continuing to establish the complete circumstances of the case.
