With a net worth of $35.5 billion, she holds the third spot among India’s wealthiest individuals, following Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani. She is the only woman featured among the top 10 billionaires in India.
Savitri Jindal chairs the Jindal Group, which has a significant presence in sectors such as steel, power, cement, and infrastructure. The conglomerate was founded by her late husband, Om Prakash Jindal, who tragically passed away in a helicopter crash in 2005. After his death, the business was divided among their four sons.
Her son, Sajjan Jindal, based in Mumbai, oversees JSW Steel, JSW Cement, JSW Paints, and took JSW Infrastructure public in 2023. In 2024, he expanded into the electric vehicle industry by acquiring a 35% stake in MG Motor India, a subsidiary of China's SAIC Motor. Naveen Jindal, based in Delhi, runs Jindal Steel & Power.
