In a significant address at the valedictory function of Karyakarta Vikas Varg-2, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat emphasized the imperative for India to achieve self-reliance in the defence sector, citing evolving forms of warfare such as proxy wars and cyber attacks. Held at Reshimbag in Nagpur, the event marked the culmination of a 25-day training camp attended by approximately 840 volunteers from diverse academic and professional backgrounds.
Dr. Bhagwat underscored that while the armed forces and government fulfill their responsibilities, the true strength of the nation lies within its societal fabric. "The defence forces and government are diligently performing their duties, but the real strength is in the society," he remarked, highlighting the pivotal role of social unity and cohesion.
Addressing a gathering that included former Union Minister and Tribal Leader Aravind Netam as the chief guest, Dr. Bhagwat stressed the importance of societal harmony and cautioned against divisive rhetoric. "We must not succumb to the rhetoric of victimhood or hate speech. Instead, we should foster harmony, ethical conduct, and mutual cooperation," he asserted.
Reflecting on the integral role of tribal communities in India's cultural heritage, Dr. Bhagwat emphasized their intrinsic connection to the nation's civilizational ethos. "The tribal society is not separate; it forms the bedrock of our civilization," he affirmed, underlining the inclusive ethos promoted by the RSS.
The Karyakarta Vikas Varg, an annual training camp held since 1927 in Nagpur, aims to imbue volunteers, known as swayamsevaks, with character and societal responsibility. This year's session included demonstrations ranging from Yogasana to interactive workshops, designed to enhance participants' understanding and capabilities.
In his address, Mr. Netam advocated for stringent legislation to curb forced religious conversions, calling for inclusive dialogue among all stakeholders on this critical issue. The event concluded with vibrant performances and displays showcasing the skills and camaraderie fostered during the intensive training period.
The Karyakarta Vikas Varg continues to serve as a cornerstone of the RSS's efforts to empower volunteers with values of discipline, service, and national unity, reflecting its enduring commitment to shaping responsible citizens for India's future.
