ISRO created history with the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 yesterday. Today, Pragyan Rover has also come out from Vikram Lander. ISRO has given information about this. ISRO wrote in its tweet, "Chandrayaan-3's rover descended from the lander. India walks on the moon." President Draupadi Murmu has congratulated the ISRO team for the successful exit of Rover 'Pragyan' from the 'Vikram' lander.
It is noteworthy that the lander 'Vikram' of the Chandrayaan-3 mission has chosen a relatively flat area to land on the lunar surface. This has come to be known from the pictures taken from its camera. Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has confirmed this.
ISRO said the images were captured by the Landing Imager Camera immediately after Vikram successfully touched down on the Moon. The pictures show a part of Chandrayaan-3's landing site. It said, "One leg of the lander and its accompanying shadow were also visible."
"Chandrayaan-3 chose a relatively flat area on the lunar surface," the space agency said, adding that communication has also been established between the lander and the Mission Operations Complex (MOX) at ISRO. ISRO has also released the photographs taken by Chandrayaan-3 while landing on the surface of the Moon.
After the successful soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the lunar surface, the rover module will now begin its 14-day task given by ISRO scientists. Its various tasks include conducting experiments there to learn more about the lunar surface. After the lander 'Vikram' completed its soft landing on the Moon's south pole, the rover 'Pragyan' has now exited the lander module to perform several experiments on the lunar surface.
According to ISRO, the lander and rover have five scientific payloads housed within the lander module. ISRO said that the deployment of the rover to conduct scientific experiments on the lunar surface will achieve new heights in lunar missions. The life span of both the lander and the rover is one lunar day which is equivalent to 14 Earth days.
