 Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India has embarked on a pivotal two-day visit to Saudi Arabia, marking his third official trip to the kingdom. Invited by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, PM Modi's visit underscores the deepening of bilateral relations between the two nations.

In his departure statement, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the historic and mutually beneficial partnership that India shares with Saudi Arabia. This relationship spans critical domains including defence cooperation, trade, investment, energy, and robust people-to-people ties. The visit aims to further solidify these ties and explore new avenues of collaboration.

"India values our historic relations with Saudi Arabia," Prime Minister Modi stated ahead of his departure. "Bilateral ties have gained significant momentum in the last decade." He expressed anticipation for the 2nd Meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council, where key discussions on enhancing bilateral cooperation are expected to take place.

During his stay, PM Modi is scheduled to engage in a series of meetings and programmes in Jeddah. Central to his agenda is the signing of multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), indicative of the diverse areas of cooperation both countries are keen to advance. Additional agreements are under finalization as talks continue between the delegations.

Highlighting the significance of India's presence in the Gulf region, this visit marks Prime Minister Modi's 15th trip to a Gulf country, illustrating India's proactive engagement with regional partners.

One of the key topics on the agenda includes discussions on Hajj-related matters, including the quota for Indian pilgrims. Prime Minister Modi is set to meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud to address these issues and strengthen bilateral cooperation further.

This visit underscores India's commitment to deepening strategic partnerships in the Gulf and enhancing economic and cultural ties with Saudi Arabia.
