The US visit will mark Prime Minister Modi’s first foreign tour in six months . It will also be the first time he will be visiting the country after President Joe Biden assumed office. He will participate in the first in-person Quad , a grouping of India, US, Australia and Japan - leaders' summit in the White House. Virtually addressing the Quad summit in March this year, the Prime Minister said QUAD is an important pillar of stability in the Indo-Pacific region. Mr Modi will also meet top American CEOs during his visit . After concluding his engagements in Washington, the Prime Minister will travel to New York. He will address the General Debate of the High-Level Segment of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 25th in New York.
