PM Modi Slams RJD for ‘Jungle Raj’, Pitches Development and Cultural Pride at Muzaffarpur Rally

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) during a rally in Muzaffarpur, accusing the party of dragging Bihar into an era of “jungle raj.” Addressing a massive crowd, Modi said the RJD’s rule was characterized by “Katta (gun), Krurta (cruelty), Katuta (bitterness), Kushasan (misrule), and Corruption.”

Calling upon the people of Bihar to reject such politics, the Prime Minister urged them to stand with development, stability, and good governance in the upcoming state elections. “The people of Bihar have suffered enough under those who thrived on fear and chaos. The NDA stands for peace, progress, and prosperity,” he declared.

PM Modi Accuses Opposition of Insulting Chhathi Maiyya

In a pointed rebuke to the Congress and RJD, PM Modi accused the opposition of “disrespecting Chhathi Maiyya for political gain.” Without naming specific leaders, he questioned their alleged remarks about the revered deity, asking,
“Can anyone insult Chhathi Maiyya for votes in an election? Will the people of Bihar and the country tolerate such an insult?”

The crowd responded with thunderous applause, as Modi said such statements reflected a disconnect between the opposition and Bihar’s cultural roots. “Those who do not respect faith can never understand the heart of Bihar,” he added.

Push for UNESCO Heritage Tag for Chhath

Highlighting the global significance of the Chhath Mahaparv, PM Modi announced that the government is making every possible effort to include the festival in UNESCO’s list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

“Chhath Mahaparv is not just a festival of Bihar; it is a celebration of humanity, devotion, and harmony with nature,” he said. “Our government is determined to see this sacred celebration recognized globally as a symbol of India’s cultural richness.”

‘Yahan ki Litchi Jitni Meethi…’

In a lighter moment that drew smiles from the audience, the Prime Minister praised the people of Muzaffarpur and their famous produce.
Yahan ki litchi jitni meethi hoti hai, utni hi meethi hai yahan ki boli,” he quipped, earning cheers from the crowd—particularly from women and young voters.

Reiterating his call for public support, Modi ended the rally with his signature slogan:
“Phir ek baar, NDA sarkaar!”

New Initiative to Promote Chhath Songs

PM Modi also announced a nationwide Chhath song competition to preserve and promote the festival’s musical traditions among the youth.

“We want the younger generation to connect deeply with the rich legacy of Chhath songs. These devotional songs carry forward the festival’s values from one generation to another,” he said.

The competition will invite participation from artists across India, helping “new voices, new songs, and new expressions of devotion” emerge on a national platform.

“Our government is committed to ensuring that this sacred celebration of faith and nature finds its rightful place on the global stage,” he concluded, as chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” echoed across the rally ground.
