PM Modi Calls India a Beacon of Hope, Urges Industry to Drive Growth and Innovation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asserted that India continues to stand as a beacon of hope for the world, backed by its strong and resilient economy. Emphasising that rapid economic development is the cornerstone of achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat, the Prime Minister said the country is well-positioned to seize emerging global opportunities.

Addressing a post-Budget webinar on the theme Sustaining and Strengthening Economic Growth through video conferencing, Mr. Modi highlighted that the global economic landscape is undergoing a major transformation. He noted that the world is increasingly seeking reliable and resilient manufacturing partners, and India has a historic opportunity to emerge as a key player in this evolving ecosystem.

“Build More, Produce More, Connect More, Export More”

The Prime Minister underlined that the government’s intent and resolve are clear — to build more, produce more, connect more, and export more. He said India’s expanding network of free trade agreements with various countries has opened doors to vast global opportunities for Indian businesses.

However, he stressed that quality must remain non-negotiable. “It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that our products meet global standards,” he said, urging industries to prioritise excellence and competitiveness.

Push for Research, Innovation and Biopharma Leadership

Mr. Modi called upon industries to significantly step up investments in research and development. He emphasised that collaboration between industry, financial institutions, and state governments is crucial to bring about tangible, ground-level transformation.

Highlighting key Budget provisions, the Prime Minister spoke about the Biopharma Shakti Mission, aimed at establishing India as a global hub for biologics and next-generation therapies. The mission seeks to position the country as a leader in advanced biopharma research and manufacturing, strengthening India’s footprint in the global healthcare and life sciences sector.

Sustainability and Clean Technologies

The Prime Minister observed that global markets are no longer driven solely by cost considerations but are increasingly focused on sustainability. Industries investing early in clean and green technologies, he said, will gain a competitive edge and better access to emerging markets in the coming years.

MSME Reforms and Infrastructure Push

Mr. Modi also pointed to the positive impact of reforms introduced in the MSME sector, stating that they are yielding widespread benefits across the economy.

He stressed that reducing logistics costs is essential to sustaining high growth. The development of high-capacity transport systems, improved coordination among railways, highways, ports, airports, and waterways, and the expansion of multi-modal connectivity will play a crucial role in boosting efficiency and competitiveness.

Reiterating his vision for Viksit Bharat, the Prime Minister called for collective effort and coordinated action to ensure that India not only sustains its growth momentum but also strengthens its position as a trusted global economic partner.
