"Pakistan wears a double face — which one should we address?" MJ Akbar takes a dig at Pakistan in Denmark

Former Union Minister MJ Akbar, a part of the Indian delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, emphasized Denmark's supportive stance towards India amidst discussions following the recent Pahalgam terror attack. Akbar described the attack as a brutal display of communal terrorism, drawing parallels with Europe's historical experiences.

The delegation, including BJP MPs Daggubati Purandeswari, Ghulam Ali Khatana, and Samik Bhattacharya, alongside Amar Singh from Congress, Priyanka Chaturvedi from Shiv Sena (UBT), and former diplomat Pankaj Saran, arrived in Denmark to engage with international leaders. Indian Ambassador to Copenhagen, Manish Prabhat, welcomed the delegation as they aimed to apprise global partners of India's response to the April 22 terror incident in Pahalgam and its broader strategy against cross-border terrorism.

During interactions, MJ Akbar criticized Pakistan, labeling it a nation with a "double face" and accusing its government of duplicity in international relations. "Even well-meaning friends will ask you, Why don't you talk to Pakistan? Tell them Pakistan has a government with a double face; which face do we talk to?" Akbar questioned. He underscored Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts in confronting Pakistan's policies, describing them as a 'bluff' that Modi has decisively challenged.

"The recent remarks made by Denmark's side are indicative of their support for India," Akbar noted, highlighting the impact of the delegation's mission as orchestrated by the Prime Minister. The delegation's itinerary includes engagements with leaders in France, the UK, Germany, the EU, Italy, and Denmark, aimed at fostering understanding and collaboration on counter-terrorism efforts and broader geopolitical concerns.

The visit underscores India's proactive diplomatic outreach amidst heightened tensions and reaffirms its commitment to countering terrorism on international platforms. As discussions unfold, the delegation seeks to consolidate support for India's stance on terrorism while fostering stronger ties with key European partners.

This diplomatic initiative reflects India's proactive stance in addressing global security challenges and advancing its strategic interests on the international stage.
