At the National Security Summit 2.0 held in New Delhi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh delivered a firm message on India’s stance against terrorism, asserting that the country will not tolerate any terrorist activity under any circumstances. Referring to Operation Sindoor, he said the initiative has clearly demonstrated India’s resolve to act decisively against threats to its sovereignty and security.
Highlighting a shift in India’s strategic approach, the Defence Minister noted that the country has moved beyond its earlier restrained responses. “India is no longer the nation that limits itself to diplomatic statements after terrorist attacks,” he said, underlining a more assertive and proactive policy. He reiterated the government’s doctrine of making no distinction between terrorists and those who sponsor them, describing Pakistan as a hub of international terrorism while positioning India as a global leader in Information Technology.
Addressing the evolving global landscape, Singh emphasised the importance of adapting governance to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world order. He called for heightened vigilance and preparedness, especially in light of ongoing geopolitical tensions such as the West Asia Conflict. He stressed the need for a society rooted in mutual respect and dignity, where differences do not escalate into destructive conflicts.
The Defence Minister also highlighted the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in strengthening India’s defence capabilities. He noted that AI has become an integral component of the country’s armed forces and is increasingly vital for strategic preparedness in the modern era. Singh underscored that embracing advanced technologies is essential for maintaining national security and staying competitive globally.
On the economic front, Singh pointed to India’s impressive growth in defence exports, which reached a record ₹38,424 crore in the financial year 2025–26, marking a significant increase of over 62 percent compared to the previous year. He affirmed that the government is committed to further boosting these figures through sustained policy support and innovation.
In addition, the minister highlighted ongoing efforts to democratise access to computing infrastructure across the country. Initiatives such as expanding GPU capacity, promoting FutureSkills programmes, and establishing Data and AI Labs are aimed at empowering youth, particularly in smaller towns, to actively participate in the technological revolution.
Concluding his address, Singh reiterated that India’s vision for the future is one that combines strong national security with inclusive technological growth, ensuring that the country remains resilient, innovative, and prepared for emerging global challenges.
