In a decisive operation launched by the Indian Army in the Zinpather Keller area of Shopian district, at least three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were eliminated after a fierce encounter on Tuesday. Named after the encounter site, "Operation Keller" was initiated based on specific intelligence inputs provided by the Rashtriya Rifles unit.
According to sources, one of the terrorists has been identified as Shahid, a local resident affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. The encounter escalated when the terrorists opened heavy fire on the security forces, leading to a fierce firefight that resulted in the elimination of all three hardcore terrorists involved in the exchange.
An official statement from the Army, reported by X, confirmed the successful culmination of the operation while noting that efforts are ongoing to ensure the area is completely secure.
Terror Free Kashmir Campaign Intensifies
Meanwhile, in a separate development aimed at countering terrorism in the region, security agencies in Shopian district have put up posters featuring three Pakistan-backed terrorists. The individuals identified as Adil Hussain Thoker, Ali Bhai, and Hashim Musa are believed to be responsible for the recent Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.
The posters, prominently displayed across various locations, offer a reward of Rs 20 lakh for credible information leading to their apprehension. Adil Hussain Thoker, in particular, was highlighted as having played a significant role in aiding Pakistani terrorists during the attack on the scenic Baisaran Valley.
Reactions and Responses
In response to recent escalations, including the Pahalgam terror attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation, reaffirming India's stance on national security. In his first public address since the launch of "Operation Sindoor," which targeted multiple terror camps across the border, PM Modi emphasized India's readiness to respond decisively to any future acts of terrorism originating from Pakistan.
"We have only paused our actions," PM Modi stated, underscoring India's vigilance and determination to combat terrorism effectively. He also criticized the Pakistani government and military for their alleged role in promoting terrorism, warning that such actions would ultimately destabilize Pakistan itself.
The recent operations and statements reflect India's firm commitment to securing its borders and countering terrorism in the region, amid ongoing tensions and strategic maneuvering between the two neighboring nations.
As the situation evolves, security forces continue to maintain heightened vigilance across Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on neutralizing terrorist threats and ensuring the safety of civilians in the region.
