In Odisha, many areas have suffered the impact of flood. While flood waters have started receding in many of the affected areas, yet certain pockets of atleast four districts continue to be under the influence of flood.
This was revealed in a high level review meeting held in Bhubaneswar by the Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Jena and Principal Secretary, Water Resources department, Anu Garg on Sunday.
As per official information, flood situation in many affected areas have already started improving owing to a reduction of inflow into the Hirakud dam from about 9.5 lakh cusec day before to 8 lakh cusec on Sunday.
Water levels in rivers like Brahmani, Budhabalanga and Baitarani are likely to come down further today.
