Noida Labour Protest Violence Case: Key Accused Aditya Anand Arrested After Multi-State Manhunt

In a significant breakthrough in the Noida labour protest violence case, police have arrested the main accused, bringing a crucial development in an investigation that had spanned several states. The arrest follows an extensive search operation involving multiple teams and coordinated intelligence efforts.

Aditya Anand, identified by investigators as the primary conspirator behind the violence, was apprehended in Tamil Nadu after remaining on the run for several weeks. His arrest marks a major step forward in the case, which stems from violent incidents linked to a workers’ protest in Noida.

Multi-State Operation Leads to Arrest

According to the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate, the operation was conducted under the direction of Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh and supervised by Additional Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Dr Rajeev Narayan Mishra. Teams from the Noida Police, in collaboration with the Special Task Force, carried out coordinated raids across multiple states to track the accused.

Aditya Anand, who had a reward of ₹1 lakh announced for information leading to his capture, was arrested on April 18, 2026, from Tiruchapalli railway station. Officials stated that the breakthrough was achieved using electronic surveillance and technical intelligence, which helped pinpoint his location.

Alleged Role in Orchestrating Violence

Police investigations have revealed that Aditya Anand played a central role in planning and inciting violence during a labour protest in the Phase 2 Police Station area of Noida. Authorities describe him as the “mastermind” behind the unrest, which disrupted public order and raised concerns over organised mobilisation of workers for violent activities.

He is reportedly linked to the organisation Bigul Mazdoor Dasta. Investigators allege that he, along with co-accused Rupesh Rai, Shrishti, Manisha, and Aakriti, had previously been involved in planning similar disturbances in Manesar before shifting focus to Noida.

Following the earlier arrest of co-accused Rupesh Rai, Anand allegedly altered his appearance by cutting his hair and beard and fled south to evade arrest, complicating police efforts.

Legal Proceedings Underway

A non-bailable warrant had already been issued against Aditya Anand by a court in Gautam Buddh Nagar prior to his arrest. Police confirmed that he had been absconding since the incident and that sustained efforts were made to bring him into custody.

With the arrest now completed, authorities have initiated further legal proceedings. Officials indicated that the investigation will continue as they seek to establish the full extent of the conspiracy and identify any additional individuals involved.

The case now moves into its next phase, with the key accused in custody and law enforcement agencies intensifying efforts to ensure accountability in the violence linked to the labour protest.
