Nitish Kumar leaves for Delhi for NDA meeting: Chandrababu Naidu will also reach

The results of the 18th Lok Sabha elections have been announced, and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured 240 seats, falling short of the majority mark by 32 seats. However, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), with a total of 292 seats, has surpassed the majority threshold. The NDA is expected to stake its claim to form the government today. Before this, a meeting of the alliance's constituent parties has been convened. The meeting will be held at 4 PM at the Prime Minister's residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in Delhi. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu are expected to attend the meeting. Yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called both leaders to ensure their presence at the meeting.

Chandrababu Naidu's TDP, with 15 seats, has emerged as the second-largest party in the NDA, while Nitish Kumar's JDU, with 12 seats, is the third-largest. Both parties are crucial for the BJP at this juncture, as forming a government without their support would be challenging. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar left for Delhi from Patna at 11 AM today. Interestingly, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav was also on the same flight, heading to Delhi to attend an INDIA Bloc meeting scheduled for 6 PM. The two leaders had an encounter on the flight.

Apart from Nitish Kumar, LJP (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan and HAM Supremo Jitan Ram Manjhi will also attend the NDA meeting. Chandrababu Naidu is expected to leave for Delhi shortly and announced this in a press conference.

AJSU Party leader from Jharkhand, Chandraprakash Choudhary, has also left for Delhi to attend the NDA meeting. At Ranchi's Birsa Munda Airport, he stated, "Our agenda is to form the government. The meeting will strategize for the formation of the new government." The BJP and AJSU alliance in Jharkhand won 8 and 1 seats respectively out of a total of 14 seats in the state. The JMM and Congress, part of the INDIA Bloc, secured 3 and 2 seats respectively.

TDP Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, in a press conference in Vijayawada before departing for Delhi, dismissed speculation about joining the INDIA Bloc. "We are part of the NDA, and I am going to attend the NDA meeting. There is nothing to worry about," he stated.

Alongside the Lok Sabha elections, the Andhra Pradesh Assembly election results have also been declared. The TDP, BJP, and Jana Sena Party alliance won 164 out of 175 assembly seats. The TDP alone secured 135 seats, while the incumbent CM Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSRCP was reduced to 11 seats. Naidu attributed the assembly election victory to the coalition's commitment to the state's welfare and development. The TDP garnered 45% of the votes, while the YSRCP received 39%. Naidu noted that many TDP workers lost sleep and faced harassment but remained dedicated to the party's cause.

As the political landscape settles, all eyes are on the upcoming NDA meeting, which will shape the future government and its policies.
