In Maharashtra, night curfew in all municipal corporation limits of the state will come into force from tonight. The seven hour long night curfew which will come into effect at 11 pm will remain till 6 am. The state government which has swung into action after a new variant of Covid-19 was identified in Britain has also said that passengers arriving from other countries will be checked and stamped on their hands and will be home quarantined.
In Mumbai, meanwhile, the city civic body has issued guidelines to passengers arriving from UK, directly or through indirect flights. AIR correspondent reports, as per the BMC guidelines, these passengers will be subjected to mandatory institutional quarantine at their own cost, in the nearby hotels for seven days. lf a passenger is found symptomatic on arrival, then he will be shifted directly to Seven Hills Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
The RT-PCR test will be conducted during 5th to 7th day at the hotels at the cost of the quarantined passengers. If the report of the test is found negative, the passenger would be discharged from the institutional quarantine after 5 to 7 days with the advice of 7days mandatory Home Quarantine. lf the test result is found positive but asymptomatic then he will be continued in the same hotel in quarantine or in the COVID-19 Hospital till 14 days.
