The 15th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Thursday, April 3, at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Both teams have struggled so far, winning only one match out of the three they’ve played.
Kolkata Knight Riders started their title defense with a heavy seven-wicket loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). But they bounced back with a strong eight-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals (RR). Unfortunately, they were beaten by Mumbai Indians (MI) by eight wickets in their third match. As a result, KKR is at the bottom of the points table with just two points.
KKR's middle order, including players like Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, and Andre Russell, has not been performing well. Their failure to score big has been a major reason for their losses so far. Additionally, the bowling department has struggled, except for one good performance against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). KKR needs to regroup quickly if they want to get their campaign back on track.
On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad has also been having a tough time, losing their last two matches to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Delhi Capitals (DC). They started their campaign with a bang, scoring the second-highest total in IPL history (286/6) against Rajasthan Royals (RR). However, their aggressive approach didn’t work in their next two games, and they ended up losing badly.
Despite these losses, SRH captain Pat Cummins has said that they will not give up and will continue to attack the bowlers in their next matches. It will be interesting to see if SRH can turn things around and defeat the defending champions in their own home ground, where KKR has traditionally been strong.
