After the return of US President Joe Biden, Israel has intensified attacks on the Gaza Strip. Due to this, Hamas terrorists seem to be breathless. Despite provocation by Iran, Muslim countries do not seem to be uniting to help Hamas and Palestine. Israeli forces on Thursday bombed hundreds of targets across Gaza, including Hamas terror tunnels, intelligence infrastructure and command centers. 10 people including a Hamas commander were killed in the army action. These include eight Palestinians and one Israeli police officer.
Jihad Mahsen, head of Hamas' national security forces, was killed along with his family in an Israeli attack on his home. At the same time, 64-year-old Jamila al-Shanti, the first woman elected to the political leadership of Hamas, was also killed in another attack in northern Gaza. Hamas has accused the Israeli army of killing its leaders. On the other hand, the Israeli army has also retaliated against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.
The Israeli army entered the West Bank early Thursday and conducted a massive raid. More than 80 Palestinians have been arrested. According to the army, out of the 80 suspects arrested in the raid that lasted overnight on Wednesday, 63 were linked to Hamas. Security forces also demolished the house of a terrorist who killed an Israeli soldier earlier this year.
Hezbollah also fired missiles towards Israel on Thursday. Two anti-tank guided missiles were fired from southern Lebanon at the Kibbutz Manara village near the border, Israel Defense Forces said, causing no casualties. Hezbollah claimed that fighters had attacked four other Israeli targets. It also claims that it is fully prepared to contribute to the conflict with Israel. Since Hamas' attack on southern Israel, Hezbollah has fired dozens of anti-tank guided missiles, rockets and mortars at Israeli military targets and Israeli cities.
At the same time, the Israeli army has also carried out air strikes on Hezbollah positions on the Lebanese border. The IDF said the military's target was also a military observation post, from where Hezbollah fired an anti-tank missile toward the northern town of Rosh Hanikra on Wednesday. The Israeli military said that fighters in Lebanon had fired two anti-armor missiles at Israel on Thursday. This is the most violent fighting between Hezbollah and Israel on the Lebanon border in the last 17 years. Hezbollah has said that 13 of its fighters have been killed in the war that started after October 7.
