Iran has outlined three key conditions for ending its ongoing conflict with the United States and Israel, signalling that any pathway toward peace must address Tehran’s political and security concerns. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that recognition of Iran’s rights, compensation for war damages, and guarantees against future attacks are essential for resolving the crisis.
In a post on the social media platform X (Twitter), Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s willingness to pursue peace but stressed that the conflict must end on terms that ensure Iran’s sovereignty and long-term security. According to the Iranian president, the war—sparked by tensions involving Israel and the United States—can only conclude if Iran’s “legitimate rights” are acknowledged by the international community.
“The only way to end this war—ignited by the Zionist regime and the US—is recognising Iran’s legitimate rights, payment of reparations, and firm international guarantees against future aggression,” Pezeshkian wrote in his message. He also revealed that he had recently discussed the situation with leaders of Russia and Pakistan, reiterating Tehran’s stated commitment to maintaining stability and peace in the wider region.
The three conditions presented by Iran reflect a broader strategy aimed at securing political recognition and security assurances while also addressing the economic consequences of the conflict. Tehran argues that the war has caused significant damage to infrastructure and economic assets, making compensation a necessary component of any lasting settlement.
Pezeshkian’s remarks come amid rising tensions in the strategically important Persian Gulf, a region that serves as a vital artery for global energy shipments. Iranian military officials have warned that any escalation targeting the country’s ports or economic infrastructure would provoke a strong response.
Earlier, Iranian armed forces spokesperson Abolfazl Shekarchi issued a stark warning during an interview with Iran’s state broadcaster Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB). He said Iran would retaliate forcefully if the United States targeted Iranian port facilities.
“If our ports and docks are threatened, all ports and docks in the region will be our legitimate targets,” Shekarchi said, according to state television. The spokesperson added that Iran’s military possesses the capability to strike a wide range of strategic sites across the Gulf if provoked.
Shekarchi further cautioned that the armed forces would conduct “heavier operations than what we have done so far” should Iranian maritime infrastructure come under attack. His comments underscore the high stakes of the conflict and the risk of wider regional escalation if hostilities intensify.
The warnings highlight Iran’s strategic position along critical shipping routes, where disruptions could have significant consequences for international trade and global energy markets.
