On Wednesday morning, July 9, an IndiGo flight bound for Delhi, carrying 175 passengers, experienced a technical snag shortly after departure from Patna's Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport. Flight IGO5009, which took off at 8:42 am, encountered engine vibrations believed to be caused by a bird strike. Promptly responding to the situation, the flight crew opted for an emergency return, landing safely back at Patna Airport by 9:03 am.
Airport officials confirmed that all passengers and crew members were unharmed during the incident. Following the safe landing, the aircraft underwent thorough inspection while the airline made arrangements for alternate travel for affected passengers.
Indore-Raipur Flight 6E 7295
Similarly, on Tuesday morning, July 8, IndiGo flight 6E 7295, scheduled from Indore to Raipur, faced a technical issue shortly after takeoff. Departing at 6:28 am, the flight quickly reported the problem to Air Traffic Control and received priority clearance for an emergency landing back at Indore Airport. The aircraft landed safely, and all passengers were disembarked without incident.
Subsequently, IndiGo cancelled the flight and provided affected passengers with options for full refunds or rebooking on alternate flights. Flight tracking data from Flightradar24 verified the aircraft's diversion back to Indore following the technical malfunction.
