Minister of State for Space and Atomic Energy, Dr. Jitendra Singh, unveiled ambitious plans today for India's foray into space and deep-sea exploration, marking 2026 as a pivotal year for technological advancements and national initiatives. Addressing the media at a press conference, Dr. Singh underscored the crucial role of Naval Forces and Naval Guards in ensuring the success of India's Gaganyaan mission, set to explore uncharted frontiers beyond Earth's orbit.

Highlighting the Department of Space's innovative approach towards rocket initiatives, Dr. Singh emphasized the integration of space and drone technologies into flagship national programs such as PM Gati Shakti, SVAMITVA, Smart Cities, and AMRUT. These technologies are poised to revolutionize sectors including railways, healthcare, and disaster management, enhancing operational efficiencies and bolstering national resilience.

Dr. Singh also heralded the increasing participation of the private sector through the IN-SPACe interface, signaling a new era of collaboration and innovation in India's space endeavors.

ISRO Chairman, Dr. V. Narayanan, provided insights into the upcoming milestones of India's space program, announcing that the first uncrewed mission of Gaganyaan is scheduled for late 2025, paving the way for a crewed mission in early 2027. This ambitious timeline underscores India's commitment to achieving self-reliance in space exploration and scientific discovery.

Dr. Narayanan further revealed that the Global Space Exploration (GLEX) 2025 conference, commencing tomorrow in New Delhi, will serve as a platform for international collaboration and knowledge exchange, positioning India as a global leader in space research and technology.
