IMD Forecast: Rainfall Expected Across India, Heavy Showers in Northern Regions

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a comprehensive forecast predicting varying degrees of rainfall across several regions of the country in the coming week. According to IMD, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by lightning is anticipated over East, West, Central, North-West, and North-East India. Additionally, heavy rainfall is expected over key northern states including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Jammu-Kashmir up until Saturday.

The weather agency has outlined scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall for the South Peninsular regions over the next five days. Notably, Coastal Karnataka is likely to experience heavy rainfall today. IMD attributes these weather patterns to a cyclonic circulation situated over Jharkhand, adjoining north Odisha, and Chhattisgarh, tilting southwestwards with altitude in the lower and middle tropospheric levels. This meteorological setup is expected to facilitate the formation of a Low Pressure Area in the same vicinity within the next 24 hours.

IMD's forecasts are crucial for residents, agricultural planning, and disaster preparedness, especially during the monsoon season when weather patterns can significantly impact daily life and economic activities across India.

Stay tuned for updates as IMD continues to monitor and provide detailed forecasts to ensure preparedness and safety amidst the changing weather conditions nationwide.
