A dramatic video of the Gurugram police encounter in which four alleged shooters linked to the Deepak Nandal gang were killed has surfaced, revealing the intensity of the late-night operation carried out by the Gurugram Police and the Crime Branch. The encounter took place in the upscale Sushant Lok Phase 2 area on Thursday night, where heavy gunfire echoed through the neighbourhood during a fierce exchange between police and the armed suspects. Four accused were killed in the encounter, while another sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment. Three Haryana Police personnel were also injured during the operation.
According to the police, the five alleged shooters had arrived at the residence of Vishal Beri, son of the founder of SGT University, with the intention of carrying out a firing attack. Investigators claimed that the incident was linked to an extortion demand of ₹1 crore allegedly made by gangster Deepak Nandal, who is believed to be operating from abroad. Police alleged that Beri had refused to pay the extortion amount, following which the gang planned the attack. Authorities further claimed that Beri had been confined inside his residence before the shooters were dispatched to execute the assault.
Police said the accused arrived at the location in a black Scorpio SUV and allegedly opened fire at the residence. Acting on prior intelligence regarding the suspects' movements, Gurugram Police reached the spot and intercepted the vehicle. Officials stated that instead of surrendering, the suspects allegedly opened fire on the police in an attempt to escape, triggering an intense gun battle.
According to investigators, nearly 60 rounds were fired by both the police and the suspects during the encounter. In the retaliatory action, all five alleged shooters sustained bullet injuries. Four of them later succumbed to their injuries, while the fifth remains under medical treatment. Three police personnel also suffered injuries during the exchange of fire and are receiving treatment.
The dramatic footage that has now surfaced captures the sound of rapid gunfire and the tense moments of the operation, highlighting the risks faced by the police during the confrontation. The video has quickly gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention to one of the most high-profile police encounters in Gurugram in recent months.
Police have launched a detailed investigation into the case, including the alleged extortion racket operated by the Deepak Nandal gang. Efforts are also underway to trace the gang's network and establish the role of those suspected to be coordinating criminal activities from outside the country. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against organised crime and extortion syndicates operating in Haryana.
