Faridabad Teacher Stabbed to Death Outside School Gate; Accused Arrested Within Hours

A 29-year-old female teacher was brutally stabbed to death outside a private school in Haryana's Faridabad on Monday, August 3, in a shocking daylight attack that took place just a few metres from a police outpost. The accused, identified as 21-year-old Amit from Kota village, was arrested within hours of the incident. The gruesome murder has once again raised concerns over women's safety and security around educational institutions.

The victim, identified as Sandhya, a resident of Dabua in Ballabgarh, had arrived at the private school in Sikrona village at around 9:30 am when she was allegedly ambushed by the accused at the school's main entrance. According to police, Amit repeatedly attacked Sandhya with a knife, stabbing her more than 20 times in the face, neck and chest in rapid succession. She succumbed to her injuries on the spot before medical help could arrive.

According to investigators, the entire attack unfolded in full public view. Purported CCTV footage from the school premises reportedly captured the horrifying incident. The footage shows Sandhya screaming for help and desperately attempting to escape, while the attacker relentlessly chased and stabbed her even after she collapsed on the ground.

Police said the accused also threatened school operator Tejpal when he attempted to intervene and rescue the teacher. Other members of the school staff rushed to help Sandhya after the attacker fled, but she had already died due to the severity of her injuries.

Authorities launched an immediate manhunt after the incident and arrested Amit, a resident of Kota village, within hours. Police are investigating the motive behind the killing, while further interrogation of the accused is underway.

The murder has sent shockwaves across Faridabad, particularly because it occurred in broad daylight and in close proximity to a police outpost. The incident has triggered fresh debate over public safety and the need for stronger preventive measures to protect women, especially those working in educational institutions.

Similar Stabbing Incidents Raise Alarm

The Faridabad murder comes amid a series of recent stabbing incidents reported from the National Capital Region.

In Delhi's Bharat Nagar, a young man identified as Sunil was stabbed to death while his female companion sustained critical injuries. According to preliminary investigations, the attack occurred after the pair allegedly resisted molestation by a group of four to five assailants inside a park. Both victims were rushed to Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital, where doctors declared Sunil dead on arrival, while the woman continues to battle for her life. Police have launched a search for the absconding suspects.

In another case earlier this month, a 19-year-old Class 11 student, Saiyed Husain, was allegedly stabbed to death following a quarrel in southeast Delhi's Kalkaji. Police said they received a PCR call reporting a fight among students near a park in the B Block of DDA Flats. The victim, a resident of JJ Camp in Okhla Phase II, was found with serious stab injuries and was taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre after CPR was administered by paramedics. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Husain was attacked during a dispute involving two or three individuals. Police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation.

The three incidents, occurring within a short span, have intensified concerns over rising knife-related violence in the NCR and underscored the urgent need for stronger law enforcement and preventive policing to curb such brutal crimes.
