Delhi to Face Heatwave with Temperatures Reaching 42°C Next Week

Delhi is set to experience a heatwave in the coming week, with temperatures expected to soar on April 7 and 8. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the maximum temperature in the city could reach between 40°C and 42°C. This rise in temperature will mark a significant increase in the city's usual weather, making it one of the hottest spells of the year so far.

Along with Delhi, the IMD has also issued heatwave warnings for several other northern states, including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh. These states are expected to witness similar high temperatures, with some areas possibly experiencing even more intense heat. The IMD has advised people to stay indoors during the peak heat hours, wear light clothing, and stay hydrated to avoid heat-related illnesses.

Experts have also warned that prolonged exposure to extreme heat could lead to heat strokes, dehydration, and other health issues, especially among vulnerable groups such as children, elderly people, and those with pre-existing health conditions. Authorities are urging residents to take necessary precautions as the heatwave conditions are expected to last for several days.

This heatwave comes as a reminder of the changing weather patterns and the need for better preparedness during the hot summer months.
