Finally, the cat is out of the bag. After Haryana election results, the grand old party Congress is convinced now that something is seriously wrong with their poll strategy. I don’t know what the expert committee will find out as to what sort of lacuna they are afflicted with. But one thing is clear now that the idea of Rahul Gandhi to divide Hindus in the name of castes has cost them a lot. Now the common man in remote areas also understands how ‘he/she’ is being utilised by political bosses to gain political power. Now, it is talk of the town that caste politics is a dangerous issue, and must be played with caution. The Haryana election result is an eye-opener for the Congress strategists to understand the changing social dynamics in the society. One hopes the research team of Congress now will come out with proper reasons for its growing unpopularity , especially in the Hindi heartland. And here, one obvious question comes to one's mind: Why is Rahul Gandhi not, at all, talking about the castes of Muslims, which are more than that of Hindus? Because Congress knows very well that it can no longer eat the lion's pie in the Muslim votes and other minorities. And if and only if the Congress enjoys the support of the Muslims through appeasement notions, it would also lose the support of the OBCs, Dalits, etc. In Haryana, it is clear now that the Congress cannot take it for granted to get the support of its traditional vote base. Rahul Gandhi also took all the measures to fulfill its appeasement policies--to divide Hindu votes and speak against the spirit of our nation outside India. Will Rahul Gandhi really accept that he has made political blunders in the social milieu and he really needs to take some lessons from his failures? He needs to accept suggestions from the real well-wishers of the grand old party, instead of taking opinions of his new advisors of his own choice.
It is a fact that now the Congress party is sharply divided in many states and the internal squabbling inside the party is wide open. There is absolutely no democracy inside the Congress and it may be the reason because of which many senior Congress leaders left the party. One has seen this Congress squabbling wide open during electioneering in Haryana. If Rahul Gandhi does not make right decisions now, then the Congress may face the same sorry state of affairs in other states that are soon going to elections, i.e. Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Delhi. The grand old party cannot always sustain itself by depending on its shattered allies--NCP, TMC and Samajwadi Party. Congress President Kharge looks like an old unmatured, apolitical entity to handle the party affairs. He is not qualified enough politically to chalk out a fiery political strategy in a country like India, where the majority of the population is young. And one can also point a finger towards Sonia Maino for this sorry state of affairs of the Congress party. Did Sonia Gandhi fail to understand the strategy of Rahul Gandhi? Or Rahul Gandhi is not under the control of Sonia’s political acumenship? Sonia controlled the UPA government and owing to this India lagged behind in comparison to other countries. At least, one expects her to guide her unguided son, who always follows incorrect political decisions. In the last Lok Sabha Elections, the INDI alliance got some more seats because of the reason that people were overconfident that Modi will again win with a big margin. However, Congress should not think that it had won the elections because of its policies or strategies. In India, voters are now quite vigilant to understand the motives of the political parties. Whoever will think and act against the spirit of our nation would be voted out of power. The political parties must ensure in their manifesto: Nation First, Party Second and Self Last. India is now on the path of progress in every sphere and has earned a name and fame in the international arena. People of Indian origin abroad and people living in India will never like to lose the growing development spirit of our nation.
