Ahead of Eid al-Adha (Bakrid) celebrations, Yogi Adityanath has issued a series of strict directives to ensure peaceful observance of the festival across Uttar Pradesh. During a high-level review meeting with senior officials on Sunday, the Chief Minister instructed district administrations and police authorities to remain on high alert and maintain law and order during the festival period.
The state government has laid particular emphasis on preventing public inconvenience, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring communal harmony. CM Yogi made it clear that religious activities related to Bakrid must strictly adhere to administrative guidelines and legal provisions.
One of the key directives issued by the Chief Minister is that namaz should only be offered within mosque premises or designated Eidgahs. He categorically stated that prayers must not be conducted in open public spaces, roads, or streets under any circumstances. Authorities have also been directed to ensure that traffic movement remains unaffected during the festival.
In view of the possibility of large gatherings, the Chief Minister suggested that mosque committees and local administrations may arrange prayers in shifts if required. The administration has been instructed to coordinate with religious leaders to ensure smooth management of crowds without disrupting public order.
The government has also imposed strict restrictions on animal sacrifice during the festival. CM Yogi directed that no form of qurbani should take place in open areas or public places. He further reiterated that the sacrifice of banned animals is strictly prohibited and warned officials to take immediate action against violations.
Cleanliness and sanitation have also been identified as major priorities. The Chief Minister instructed civic authorities to ensure proper disposal of animal waste and maintain hygiene in all localities after the sacrificial rituals. Municipal bodies and sanitation teams have been asked to remain active throughout the festival to prevent unhygienic conditions.
To strengthen security arrangements, CM Yogi ordered heightened surveillance in sensitive areas across the state. Adequate police deployment has been mandated at Eidgahs, mosques, and other important locations. Authorities have also been instructed to closely monitor troublemakers and anti-social elements to prevent any untoward incident.
In addition, the state government has directed the use of modern surveillance systems, including CCTV cameras and drone monitoring, in vulnerable and sensitive districts. Officials have been told to maintain continuous vigilance and ensure rapid response in case of any disturbance.
