BJP Announces New Uttar Pradesh Organizational Team Ahead of 2027 Assembly Elections

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday unveiled its new organizational team for Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of state BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary, a move that is being viewed as strategically significant ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

The newly announced team includes 19 state vice-presidents, 8 general secretaries, and 18 state ministers. The restructuring comes nearly nine months before the crucial state elections and reflects the party's efforts to strengthen its social and regional outreach across Uttar Pradesh.

Among the notable appointments, Purvanchal leader Pooja Pal, who joined the BJP after leaving the Samajwadi Party, has been appointed as a state vice-president. Former Uttar Pradesh minister Suresh Rana, a prominent leader from western Uttar Pradesh, has also been entrusted with the responsibility of vice-president.

Political observers believe the new organizational structure has been designed with a special focus on Other Backward Classes (OBCs), as the BJP seeks to counter the Samajwadi Party’s PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) strategy. Several leaders from OBC communities have been given key positions in the state unit.

The party has also announced several important appointments across its various frontal organizations. Dinesh Pratap Singh has been named the BJP’s state spokesperson, while Devendra Singh has been appointed president of the BJP Kisan Morcha in Uttar Pradesh. Rohit Mishra will lead the BJP Yuva Morcha, Ashok Rawat has been named president of the Scheduled Caste Morcha, and Saroj Kushwaha has been appointed president of the Mahila Morcha.

Another prominent appointment is that of Neeraj Singh, son of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who has been elevated as a state vice-president. His inclusion is seen as an effort to strengthen the party's leadership profile and organizational outreach.

According to the official list released by the BJP, the 19 state vice-presidents are Suresh Rana, Satyapal Saini, Braj Bahadur, Dr. Dharmendra Singh, Mohit Beniwal, Devesh Kori, Priyanka Rawat, Durvijay Shakya, Ramesh Singh, Neeraj Singh, Archana Mishra, Pooja Pal, Shankar Giri, Kameshwar Singh, Dr. Kritika Agarwal, Suresh Maurya, Alok Gupta, Rajesh Yadav, and Krishna Bihari Rai.

The new team reflects a careful balance of caste representation, regional leadership, and organizational experience. With the assembly elections approaching, the BJP leadership is expected to rely heavily on this revamped team to consolidate its voter base and strengthen its campaign machinery across the state.
