A major update has come out in the Uttarakhand weather forecast. A red alert for heavy to very heavy rain has been issued for two days from August 23 in eight districts of Uttarakhand. Holiday has been declared for schools and Anganwadi centers in Dehradun and Pauri districts following the forecast by the Meteorological Department.
According to the Director of the Meteorological Department, Dr. Bikram Singh, a red alert for heavy to very heavy rain has been issued for eight districts of Uttarakhand, namely, Tehri, Dehradun, Pauri, Haridwar, Bageshwar, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar for August 23 and 24. .
On the other hand, there is a possibility of heavy rains in these districts on August 25, due to which an orange alert will remain there. The district administration and disaster management have been alerted for special vigilance in these districts. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in other districts.
In view of the red alert of heavy rains, the district administration has declared a holiday for schools and Anganwadi centers in Dehradun district today. In the order issued by the Additional District Magistrate, it has been said that this step has been taken in view of the warning of the Meteorological Department. He said that along with Anganwadi centers in the district, there will be a holiday in all government and private schools from class one to 12.
Heavy rains lashed Rispana Pul, Araghar Chowk, Haridwar Bypass, Ghantaghar, ISBT areas of Dehradun. Dehradun received 72.8 mm of rain within three hours on Monday night. According to the Meteorological Department, 4.5 mm of rain was recorded at Mohkampur station at 8.30 pm on Monday night.
77.2 mm of rain was recorded at 11.30 am. There was 72.8 mm of rain in three hours. Heavy rains occurred in many areas of Dehradun on Tuesday morning as well. According to Meteorological Director Dr. Bikram Singh, 78.2 mm of rain was recorded in Jollygrant, 46.5 in Raiwala, 39.5 in Sahastradhara and 16.5 mm in Asharodi.
